Uploading videos without user access - Open Upload

Usually, users need backend access to your workspace to upload videos. However, with the Open Upload feature, you can enable others to upload content without direct backend access. This can be useful in scenarios like:

• Audience Contributions: Allow your audience to share videos directly on your site.
• Competitions: Let visitors upload videos as part of a contest.
• External Contributors: Grant external video producers upload access without workspace administration rights.

Creating an Open Upload

To set up an Open Upload, go to Settings > Upload, select Open Upload, then click Create New Open Upload. Here are the options you’ll see:

• Upload Mode:
  • Public: Videos are visible on your video hub immediately after upload and processing.
  • Moderated: Videos require approval before being published, allowing you to review content first.
• Required Information: Specify which fields the uploader must complete, such as Name and Email.
• Allow File Attachments: Enable attachments if additional files should accompany the video.
• Custom Fields: Add fields for custom variables you've set up (read more about custom variables and video fields here).
• Linking to Open Upload: Choose to link to the Open Upload form on your video site’s sidebar, so visitors can upload videos directly.
• Category Selection: Assign a default category for uploaded videos, or allow the uploader to select a category.
• Tags: Set tags for uploaded videos, and decide if the uploader can add custom tags. Separate multiple tags with commas.
• Notification Email: Specify an email to receive notifications of new uploads.
• Description: Add a description to help admins differentiate between multiple Open Uploads.
• Terms and Conditions: Add any terms the uploader must accept to complete the upload.

This setup allows you to create multiple Open Uploads, each with unique configurations for specific categories or use cases.
