Organizing your videos in categories

Categories is a way for you to organize your videos. A category can represent a specific topic or a theme and when divided between them your videos can be browsed based on which category they belong to. To begin organizing your videos into categories, navigate to the left-side menu and select Video → Categories.

Organizing categories and hiding

In the Category section, you can further refine your video organization. To rearrange the categories, simply click the button next to the three-dot menu and drag the category up or down in the list.

By clicking on the three dots for each category, you have the option to hide it. Hiding a category will make it invisible in the Video Section, allowing you to control which categories are displayed and which remain hidden.

Options and statistics for each category

You can click your way into each of the categories to see a few key analytics numbers for this category, and you have four options in the sidebar:

  • Videos: Here you can see that videos that belong to this categories, and like on the main overview page, you can click each of them to edit the single videos.

  • Share: This is where you will find the embed source of your category. Also, you can share a category using the link found here.

  • Actions: Actions defined for a specific category will work seamlessly across all the videos placed in this category. Read more about Actions here.

  • Ordering: Here you can drag and drop the individual videos to change the order of them. The videos will appear in this order on the frontend of your video website, unless you choose to overrule this order in the settings of eg. a thumbnail layout block.

Additionally, in the upper-right corner of each category, you can edit the category's title and description.
